Fort Worth police SWAT team officers on Tuesday afternoon were at a house in west Fort Worth in which a woman fired a gunshot as police, firefighters and medics tried to enter, authorities said.

Fire Department and other emergency personnel went to the house in the 2700 block of Brea Canyon Road because the woman requested medical assistance.

As they arrived, the woman again called and warned that she would shoot anyone who tried to enter, a Fort Worth police spokesperson said.

Officers, firefighters and MedStar personnel tried to enter but heard what appeared to be a gunshot from inside the house, police said.

The authorities withdrew and established a perimeter.

Police about 4:45 p.m. said the matter was ongoing and fluid.
